Compassion

Compassion is a key-word1 in Buddhist circles. Compassion, or Loving-Kindness, is most often used to describe the act of loving all beings in the universe, not getting ticked off at the lady with five screaming children in front of you in line to see a movie you've been looking forward to, not squishing bugs just for the hell of it, and most usually is the reason that many (but not all) Buddhists are vegetarians. Presumably, the more enlightened you get, the more compassionate you become.
