Nirvana was a grunge-rock band from Seattle.

In Buddhism, Nirvana means the end of the cycle of Samsara (the cycle of birth, suffering, death, and back to birth).¹ The word means to snuff out, to blow out (like a candle), or to extinguish.

It has been transformed by the new-agers into a mystical magical sort of Buddhist heaven. It is not that.

It is death, plain and simple. That's it, the end. It's what happens after you die. Oblivion. Just like a candle doesn't re-light itself after you've blown it out, (unless you have an annoying friend with those re-lighting candles) you don't come back.
